Pistol was our first "home-bred" Champion from our first litter.  He had a warm, friendly, loving temperament and personality, and was known for giving his famous "Pistol Hugs".  He was a great ambassador for our breed, and loved visiting schools and Scout Troops with Rich doing educational talks about the breed.

At home, Pistol loved to walk around with a rawhide stick in his mouth, as if he were smoking a stogie.  It was funny because he would come over and give it to you... he loved to share.  Pistol never realized he grew in size from puppy-hood... he still tried to climb into your lap... or as we would say, he tried to crawl inside of you.  He was a very affectionate boy.

In the show ring, Pistol's effortless, ground-covering gait impressed many.  He was a lot of fun to show, always being the perfect gentleman.  It was a joke among friends not to pet Pistol before he went into the show ring, as he was always groomed to perfection.  Pistol was always breeder/owner handled by Roseann to all of his wins.

Pistol Posing himself during Weight Pull

As a working dog, Pistol loved to run on our sled team, either single or double-lead.  He also loved back-packing with Rich.  Weight-pulling wasn't really work for Pistol... he made it fun.  The comedian side of him came out as he would tighten the line, stack himself, and stand there like he was in the show ring for everyone to "look upon him", and at the last moment, he easily pulled the weight.

Pistol has produced wonderful "all-around" offspring, excelling in conformation showing, obedience, working, and agility.  He also passed on his wonderful temperament and personality to his children and grand-children.

Pistol gave us so much and was one of the biggest loves of our lives.  We will cherish the wonderful memories forever.
